Product Availability Update as of 11/19/24
AUX, NAV, F-55, PAL harnesses, and PAL software upgrades
Most of these are in stock and I can usually ship the next day after I receive your order. If I don't have them made up already, I have the parts so you won't have to wait long.
My most popular harnesses are the auxiliary input harnesses because they are so easy to install and they allow you to connect most any music device to your audio system. But also take a look at the Bluetooth page, because it will also connect to the auxiliary input harness and it allows you to wirelessly stream your audio from most any smartphone.
Note: If you have a Hummer or '03-'06 GM truck, you must notify me because the wiring is slightly different than on the Corvette. Be sure you order the correct harness.

No more dead batteries because you forgot to unplug your cell phone or music player!
Version 2 PAL kits
Original PALs Available! - see the Upgrade page .
(Note 10/15/20: I've squirreled away a few Version 2 PALs and I've got a couple of them for sale for $300 each. Email me if you're interested.)
Another way to get a Version 2 PAL is to find an original (Version 1) PAL at a dealer or other online source, and I can upgrade it for you. Be sure you order the correct part number, GM P.N. 17800593. There are a few original PALs around at dealers across the country. Don't bother asking dealers about Version 2 PALs - they won't have the faintest idea what you're talking about.
Note: As of 5/1/14, the list price has doubled. The "going" price is now around $330 for an original PAL!
Click here for a comparison between the original PAL sold by GM and the Version 2 PAL kits
If you keep your eye out on eBay, you can sometimes find an original PAL for less cost.
You will need my special installation harness to replace the one in the Version 1 PAL kit and a software upgrade to get the features offered with the Version 2 kits. I've run out of the 5 volt iPod cables, but you can use the 4' or 6' OEM white cables as described. You can order my harnesses and software upgrades in the Components Only section below. If you order an original PAL kit from someone else, you can have it direct shipped to me if that is convenient for you, so I can upgrade the software in the module. If you go this route, please have them put your name somewhere so I'll know who it's for.
You might also want to consider one of my auxiliary input harnesses below. Since I build these myself, I can ship them immediately.
Note for owners of other non-Corvette Class 2 vehicles, you must email me first so I can be sure to have the correct installation harness and/or software for your PAL.
For European customers, the European UL2 option has a different firmware for the European frequencies and your radios will not recognize a PAL or an XM band. So the only option for your Vettes is the replacement of the factory Nav radio with one from a 2011-13 Corvette. These have a new USB interface as well as a built in auxiliary input. A "PREMIUM" Option for the AUX-1 harnesses is now available. Click HERE to learn more.
AUX-1 Harness for SUBSTITUTING your music device audio for XM audio, $40:
(shown above is the latest model using OEM quality Delphi and Yazaki connectors)
The AUX-1 harness is about 11' long.
NOTE: Premium (PREM) harnesses are $10 more, or $50
For C6 Convertible owners, I now have a 4' version of the AUX-1 harness, since your XM receiver is right between the seats behind the waterfall.
Click below for the AUX-1 VRT harness:
For owners who want to use the AUX-1 harness with the Kinivo Bluetooth kit, I have a version "F" with a female jack rather than a male plug.
Note: For those of you who are ordering this
harness for the Kinivo Bluetooth, an excellent companion item is the $10 Fuse
Jumper - Click HERE
to learn more.
Without this Fuse Jumper, your Auxiliary Power Outlet is hot (voltage present) all the time.
If you leave the Kinivo Bluetooth plugged into the power outlet when the car is
shut down, current is being drawn from the battery. The Fuse Jumper simply
converts the power outlet to be hot only in Run and Accessory modes, so it
cannot drain the battery when the car is shut down.

(These patch cables are included with any of the AUX-2 or AUX-3 harnesses shown below.)
(These are an add-on item - I don't offer them without a harness order.)

For Other GM Cars
The AUX-1 harnesses can also be used on many other GM cars and trucks with XM, but I need to modify the wiring a bit.
Please email me for your particular application.
I will build these to be 6' long, unless you would prefer a different length. 6' should be long enough to reach the center console area from the XM receiver behind the glove box.

Note: If you order this harness for a Corvette, before I ship I will need confirmation that 1) you have an XM receiver and 2) that you understand that you will need to remove your center console and radio to install the harness. The reason I need this confirmation is because I've had owners order this who did not read the installation requirements at the top of the page - none of these harnesses will work without an XM receiver to provide the XM band needed. Also most Corvette owners order the AUX-2 harness instead, because it is so much simpler to install at the XM receiver. If you have read all of this and want the AUX-3 harness for neatness of installation, I'm happy to ship it. I just want you to be sure this is the one you want. Please email me at ray@kawal.net to confirm.

This harness can also be used on many other GM cars and trucks with XM, but I need to modify the wiring a bit. This is particularly popular on Hummer H3s.

NAV-3 Harness for adding a switch to allow entering destinations while moving,
plus an Auxiliary Input if you have XM, $95:
Note: If you have a 2011-13 C6, the new USB Nav radios include a USB and auxiliary in port in the console, so you will not need this harness.
NAV-4 Harness for installing a 2011-13 USB Navigation Radio in a 2005-2010 Corvette, $65:
(NOTE: If you are installing the new USB Nav radio in a 2011-13 Corvette with a non-Nav radio, your car should already be prewired for an auxiliary input. You will therefore not need this harness. Look for the connector below the HVAC module.)
NAV-5 Harness for installing a VSS (vehicle speed sensor) wire from the instrument cluster to the Nav radio, $15:
Note that this is only necessary when installing a factory Nav radio in a C6 with a factory non-Nav radio.
(You might not need this if you have a Bose audio system, so you should check the wiring you have before ordering.)
See the Addendum near the bottom of the website below.
Shipping is free if you order this with one of my other harnesses, because I can toss it in the same box.
Note that you will be automatically charged $8 for Priority Mail shipping when you order, but when I receive the order with another harness I will refund the $8 shipping cost.
NAV-6 Harness for installing a 2011-13 USB Navigation Radio in early 2005-2007 non-Nav Corvettes without XM, $85:
The above harness is a combination of the NAV-4 and NAV-5 harnesses shown above, but with a prewired Delphi Micro Pack 100 connector.
The early non-Nav radios without XM have an empty port without this connector in the wiring harness.
(You might not need this if you have a Bose audio system, so you should check the wiring you have before ordering.)
See the Addendum near the bottom of the website below.

NAV-7 Harness and Audio Pod kit for modification of 2005-2010* consoles to be used with the installation of 2011-13 USB Navigation Radio, $155:
The above harness and audio pod are used to modify an OEM console when the USB console is unavailable.
for the NAV-7 Pod and Harness KitPLEASE NOTE! This harness will NOT connect directly to the USB Nav radio. You still need the GM USB cable and the NAV-4 harness as described on the USB Nav radio installation website.
*If you have a 2011-13 Corvette with a non-Nav radio, check your console to make sure you don't have the Nav console with the USB and auxiliary input port.
NOTE PRICE INCREASE:
I'm sorry I had to increase the price on this harness kit because I was previously using a 22829190 USB cable which is no longer available. The new cable is a 19119050, which is no better, but it costs me $20 more. These cables are becoming obsolete and I'm concerned about future availability. There may become a time when I can't offer a solution at all.

Auxiliary Power Outlet Fuse Jumper
In 5-10 minutes, add this fuse jumper to your passenger footwell fuse panel to convert the auxiliary power outlet in your center console to be hot only in Run and Accessory Mode. ("Hot" means voltage is present.)
No more drained batteries if you forget to leave your smartphone or music player plugged in!
Click Here for a complete description
The jumper comes complete as shown, with two 10 amp fuses and instructions, $10.
Shipping is free if you order this with one of my harnesses, because I can toss it in the same box.
Note that you will be automatically charged $7 for Priority Mail shipping when you order, but when I receive the order with another harness I will refund the $7 shipping cost.
(NOTE for Cadillac XLR owners: You do not need this Fuse Jumper because your power outlets are controlled by RAP (Retained Accessory Power) circuits. They will turn off automatically in ten minutes.)
The above Fuse Jumper can control EITHER the center console power outlet or the cigarette lighter socket, but not BOTH.
The Double Fuse Jumper shown below can control BOTH the center console power outlet AND the cigarette lighter:

The Double Fuse Jumper comes complete as shown, with two 10 amp fuses and instructions, $25.

International Shipping for all harnesses
For shipping harnesses to Canada and other international addresses, I have added a less expensive First Class International shipping option for an additional $10.
I don't know how long it will take, but it will leave here the same or next day after your order.
(NOTE, I usually ship in a USPS Flat Rate Small Priority Mail box. But when I ship First Class, I can't use the Priority box so I'll usually use a padded envelope instead.)
International First Class Shipping to Canada and other foreign addresses in a padded envelope, additional $10:
Canada and other foreign shipments, please add $30 for International Priority Mail:
Although USPS Priority Mail in the U.S. takes only 2-3 days to most anywhere in the U.S., International Priority Mail is often delayed by the foreign country's Customs agency. Plus the foreign country's mail service may or may not be as fast as ours in the U.S. I have seen PAL shipments to Canada take as little as a few days but one took almost three weeks. All of my shipments have delivery confirmation with a tracking number, but once the shipment leaves the U.S. the tracking numbers aren't too useful.
If you would prefer to upgrade to International Express Mail, the tracking is supposedly better and faster. Please add $45 for Express Mail:
for original PAL owners
PAL Software Upgrades
If you have an original Version 1 PAL and want the new features of the Version 2 PAL, I can upgrade your PAL module to the latest release of software (2.2.F132). Send me your PAL module (only) and I can upgrade the software and return it to you with a one day turnaround. I will ship your updated module back to you via Priority Mail in a small Flat Rate Box. I will also include a one page operational guide (which you can also download here from the Version 2 PAL page) that shows how to use the new Version 2 features.
You can send your module to the following address:
Ray Kawal
268 Lakeview Drive
Sequim, WA 98382
When you remove your PAL module from the bottom of your passenger footwell fuse panel, you'll likely find it is stuck pretty good with double velcro. If you use a screwdriver you can pry it loose after you remove the 16 pin connector. Be sure to pull the blue locking tab back so you can push down the black release tab on the connector. After the module is loose, push down the locking tab on the RJ45 connector for the iPod cable and remove the cable.
For owners of ORIGINAL GM PALs (not some brand new Corvette PALs! - see below), the cost is $35 for the software upgrade. Use the Add to Cart button below:
For some of the brand new Corvette PALs (same part number 17800593) now available at many GM dealers, Mediatronics threw us a "monkey wrench". They left off the software flash update pins - I guess to save a nickel! Please see the PAL Upgrade page for details. So now when I receive one of these new circuit boards I have to solder on flash pins before I can upgrade the new Corvette circuit boards. For upgrading these brand new Corvette PALs, I've got to increase the cost to $50.
Note that many of the new PAL circuit boards DO have the flash pins. You can check yourself if you unscrew the four Phillips screws on the bottom of the PAL module and check the circuit board. If you don't want to bother checking, I will of course inspect the board when I upgrade the software. If you DO have the flash pins, I will refund you the extra $15 you paid.
Please use the Add to Cart button below:
For Previous Version 2 PAL Owners:
To cover my basic costs, I can offer software upgrades to original purchasers of Version 2 PAL kits or previous Version 2 upgrade purchasers for $15. You pay for the shipping of your module to me and the $15 cost will include my return Priority Mail shipping back to you.
For Version 2 PAL kit owners with software versions prior to C450A193, send me your module and I'll update it for free and I'll pay the return shipping cost. This is because there were some operational issues with the early software that should be corrected.
PAL Installation Harnesses
Purchase a Premium XM Installation Harness for a PAL for $85,
(plus the return of your original OEM PAL harness):
Click here for a complete description
Purchase a Standard XM Installation Harness for a PAL for $35,
(plus the return of your original OEM PAL harness):
These are universal XM PAL harnesses that can be used for all PAL applications when it is desired to connect the PAL at the XM receiver. They use generic connectors and terminals that are reliable, but not quite as nice as the OEM quality Premium harness.
Note: If you have an '05 C6 Corvette and want one of these for your PAL installation, please email me and let me know you have an '05. In that model year the XM receiver had a slightly different internal wiring circuit. I have to make a slight wiring change to the harness to accommodate the '05 XM receiver.
PAL iPod Cables
The 4' OEM cables are excellent quality and they work great without an extension in convertibles:
The Add to Cart Button below will purchase a 4' OEM cable for $25. If you own a coupe or Z06, you MAY want the 6' extension shown below.
Please click HERE to read about charging issues.
NOTICE:
As of 5/18/14 I just got some new 6' OEM PAL iPod cables in. These will reach the center console area from the XM receiver area if you go diagonally across the the rear cargo area under the carpet. 8' would be nicer, but if you have a coupe or Z06 you'll probably like these new 6' cables. They look just like the above photo except that they have a straight, rather than right angle, RJ50 connector that connects to the PAL module.
Click the Add to Cart button below if you want one of the 6' OEM cables for $25.
Purchase a 6' PAL iPod cable extension that will connect between the PAL module and the iPod cable sold above for $25:
This extension cable has a proprietary 10 pin male and female connector on each end.
Please note that these 8' iPod cables originally included with the Version 2 PAL kits are sold out:
I do have some 4' and 6' OEM iPod cables left and I have some 6' extensions (see below) to connect between the 4' iPod cable and the PAL module. But they will NOT charge the latest iPods and iPhones. To charge these late generation iPods and iPhones, you will need to purchase a separate charging adapter like the Scosche Passport, available at amazon and other online sources.
If you have a coupe or Z06, you might want to look for one of the discontinued iSimple charging extensions, model IS-710. They are 4' long and they will charge the latest iPods and iPhones when connected to the 4' OEM iPod cable shown below. Do a Google search for IS-710 or iSimple 710 and you might find one.
The 4' OEM cables are excellent quality and they work great without an extension in convertibles.
